Finally, our
September issues chockfull of fall fashions are starting to roll in—starting with
Marie Claire and Glamour. After perusing, studying and drooling we’re excited
about what’s coming this fall in fashion trends like rich hues of classic autumn
tones and 1970s-inspired details (think fringe). So, whose fall fashion
coverage did we like best?
What we liked
about Marie Claire—oodles of examples, 101 ways to be exact, to incorporate the
fall trends into our current wardrobe with 18 pages of pieces and how to put
outfits together, practical work ideas and accessories. We also liked the “Fashion
401k” spread about investment pieces. Bonus points: fall fashion is in one uninterrupted
chunk.
Conclusion: The
approach is classic Marie Claire—lots of examples, clear info on prices and
unfussy layouts.
What we liked
about Glamour—lots of runway examples divided into categories by piece:
dresses, tops, skirts, pants, jackets, suits and knits with helpful hints on “How
to wear trends.” In addition there’s “68
Shoes & Bags You’ll Want Now” and a combo feature/fall looks with Penelope
Cruz.
Conclusion:
Glamour took a more high fashion approach with features and spreads.
Our Pick:
Honestly, it’s a toss-up this time around. We like Marie Claire’s consistency
and give numerous kudos for the one-stop chunk of coverage; however, we really
like Glamour’s “7 People Who Could Change Your Style” feature and their
devotion to accessories.

Yes, Marie Claire's cover is better. It is really pretty and natural.
