Consumer magazines, as anyone following the magazine industry knows, are struggling in the current economy. While the industry saw ad pages down a staggering 29.5 in this year's second quarter, Fitness magazine, a Meredith Corp. title, managed the biggest gain--18.4 percent. Here, Folio interviews Fitness publisher Lee Slattery on how the magazine is succeeding in this hard time.
