Condé Nast International announced yesterday that it will start publishing GQ magazine in China in October. The men's magazine is the fourth Condé Nast title to be available in China--Vogue, Self and Modern Bride are already available. The Chinese GQ edition will be the magazine's 17th international issue. While the same advertising decline that U.S. magazines are dealing with has hit China and other countries, Condé Nast believes GQ will be successful in the Chinese market because of the country's enormous male population and the popularity of luxury items.
