The End of an Era: Admired Trade Magazines Shuttered

In an effort to get out of the trade publication business Nielson Business Media has shuttered both Editor & Publisher magazine and Kirkus Reviews. The media company has also sold its other magazines--The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, Adweek, Mediaweek among the trade titles to a joint venture.

As the slow death of the newspaper industry continues, the loss of E&P magazine--an authority that covered the American newspaper industry since 1901--is painful. 
Kirkus Reviews, which was founded in 1933 is a big loss too. The magazine reviewed approximately 5,000 titles per year in every genre.

Amazing how fast it is actually going. I wonder what will be the future of all the famous magazines. I predict they will live longer than the smaller ones but their end is coming closer too.
